How Near is Our God!

God appears in a covering as a veiled reality, seen as a tremendous mystery.
Surprisingly we are familiar with the cloud, and we are experts in covering God in mysteries.
When David wanted to build the temple, God reminded him that He never lived in a house, but had been like a wanderer moving about in a tent.
God in the midst of people, is unfortunately a strange God for us, or may be a familiar stranger.

When Christ came to live with us there was no cloud of mysteries, there was no terrifying fire, no concealing smock!
There was but a human possibility of touch with power of life.
Experience how near is our God!
Temple centered faith and lifepatterns somehow conditioned the knowledge of God,
the place to worship and the way to live and pray.
There was a time when they had no temple, no altar, no sacrifice, no priest.
Once the temple was destroyed, there again came a time they had no temple, no altar, no sacrifice, no priest.
The whole dimension of believing and living asked for a redefining of their structures,
and the foundation was that the Lord dwells among the people.

Then the altar, sacrifice, even the divine presence itself is understood differently.
In our own pains God has found a worthy altar.
In faraway heavens it is all emptiness, but dare to touch him.
May be his garment first, and then Himself,
gradually feel his breath, and then his heart.

Now can you call him gently?
Not being able to see, hear, or speak,
not able to walk ahead in life,
very much closed within and causing injuries to oneself...
See clearly those altars in our own lives.
Rise up, Can you dare to touch this healing reality,? Worship in silence, speak gently few words from the depth of the heart.
Every healing touch is a sacrifice, a living sacrifice.
It is not a mystery in thick clouds, it is a the treasure in your heart!
Touch and feel, How near is our God!

“Come, taste and see that the Lord is Good” Ps 27: 4
